A dark and scary thing erupted when
A clueless rich designer tweeted how
The chaos there in Cairo must have been
Just mobs a-crowding 'round his store right now.
The internet's alive now with the blurts
Of those who mock him, push the boundaries
Of taste as they do so. In truth it hurts
No one; they are just jokes and words, but Jeeze,
To think of all that must have lurked beneath
Polite facades ere this event. I can't
Say that I do not laugh, but grit my teeth
To see this on display. That just one scant
And dumb remark provokes a genre is,
The cost, I guess, these days of doing biz.

In Which A Lesson Is (Again) Learned
A Chamber Chick of old, I should have known
To take advice I've long been wont to give.
Now B&B doth reap what has been sown
By a much larger rival. What I'd give
To have these last few days back! I'd just go
To south Cheyenne, the big boxes eschew,
And take my money to where I well know
It will be much appreciated. You
Might pay more but it's worth it not to ache
In head and heart just trying to get a thing
Replaced or fixed. I swear I shall not make
This same mistake again when next fates bring
Me to a sim'lar choice. Your locals are
Your best bet -- and if things go wrong, not far.

In Which I Bid Facebook A Not-So-Fond Farewell
This has been coming for a long time now.
One straw always looks innocent and light
Until one bows 'neath many. I'll allow
I bore more than I should have; I'll not fight
With anyone o'er what it finally took.
The ratio of benefit against
Annoyance long has caused me, yes, to look
Askance at Facebook; I for long have sensed
Someday I'd leave it for good reason. Schemes
With "features" that just mock my privacy
And open up abuses despots' dreams
Could barely outline, all add up to be
Not worth it to play chess or simply chat.
There's other places where I can do that.
