In Which I Celebrate An Instrument And Drop A Subtle Hint

Just yesterday I overdid my ride
Home from my job, on my own dear Deep Blue,
Despite the cold wet drizzle that sure tried
To get me down. But I just sailed on through
An extra five or six miles, rocking out
To Beau Jocque and to ol' C.J. Chenier
And Beausoleil! An iPod that's without
Accordion is one devoid of cheer,
I say, and I know one who'd quite agree:
Stephan Spiegel, my fav'rite troubadour
On squeezebox and on mandolin though we
Have yet to hear him play. I do wait for
A Ustream concert soon. What do you say,
My sweet Stephan? It sure would make my day!

BONUS SONNET: In Which I Tsk A Slightly Neglected Friend About A Friend She May Be Neglecting

Oh Erin dear, if you are reading this,
You need to call your dear Gerry Kissell.
He's got some plans I'm sure you'd hate to miss,
And I would like to know of them as well.
I friended him on Facebook on a whim,
As I've been thinking of the things he does
Of which you've told me often. To meet him
I'd like to do someday for real. It was
His birthday also, on this very day!
So take that step and call Blade Runner Boy.
That's all for now I really have to say,
Except I miss you and I wish you joy.
Your busy summer season's starting soon.
And I won't get to Togie till mid-June.

BONUS SONNET: Night Of The Collie

A normal night was how this ev'ning seemed;
I even had a good ride on my bike.
But then in Molly's eye a blood drop gleamed.
Her patient gaze tore through me like a spike.
Good old Cheyenne, on Sunday night no vets
Are taking calls; to Fort Collins they say
Must after hours folk with injured pets
Repair or wait til 9 a.m. next day.
She start swatting at her injury
And seemed to tear it open that much more.
So off we went, two pals, my dog and me
On south to find the truth behind the gore.
It's minor, I am glad now to report.
But getting home was its own winter sport.
